Energy-Absorbing Cobra Technology & Lifestyle Front Guard Meets EU Pedestrian Protection Requirements in Effect Since November 25, 2005
Cobra Technology & Lifestyle is the only manufacturer to offer energy-absorbing stainless steel front protection systems with EU operating certificate. In a crash test conducted by BGS at the German Federal Highway Research Institute (Bundesanstalt für Straßenwesen - BASt) the new accessory parts met the new EU guidelines for pedestrian protection that have been in effect since November 25, 2005. The new guidelines further improve the safety of pedestrians, especially that of children.
Research conducted by BASt showed SUVs equipped with front guards not to have any special significance in the overall accident picture. And yet the Cobra Technology & Lifestyle
engineers and technicians have been working for years on the continued improvement of accident protection.
The energy-absorbing Cobra Technology & Lifestyle front protection systems of the latest generation proved during the crash tests that front guards do not necessarily present an added danger for other motorists or for pedestrians.
The tests for rating the front guards were conducted as defined by the new EU guidelines for pedestrian protection. With a velocity of 40 km/h a special standardized leg dummy crashed against the energy-absorbing Cobra Technology & Lifestyle front protection system that has been mounted to the front of the SUV. This simulates a typical city accident between a vehicle and a pedestrian as defined by the new norm. All test measurements remained well below the maximum allowable limits.
The results prove that the energy-absorbing Cobra Technology & Lifestyle front protection systems meet the new strict EU guidelines for pedestrian protection and underscores Cobra Technology & Lifestyle\'s global leadership in the off-road accessories market.
The energy-absorbing Cobra Technology & Lifestyle front protection systems come with EU operating certificate.
